Size 2 - center back length = 22.75"
Size 4 - center back length = 23"
3/13 ETA - I ended up taking a size 4 in one color. I thought it was a bit loose under the arms, but never thought to size down. I happened to try on a size 2 in another color, as no size 4 was on the rack. The 2 fit well. I got the size 2 in the next couple of colors I picked up. Take the smaller of your JC sizes. Consider sizing down 2 sizes total to get the closest fit to the body, if that's your goal.
Size 6 - This is a fuller cut thru the body. I don't know why the are describing it as a tailored fit on the online description. The dark cove is pretty. I like the very tame ruffle collar. Check out the Sera on Roxy. And I reviewed the Sera top in traced medallion.
If you are pregnant and hoping to buy something J Crew, this would be a good choice and should work thru the early 2nd trimester. Generally speaking, of course. Everyone's belly growth is different.
This is one of my favorite parts of the top. I love the corset like buttons. Covered buttons buttons usually drive me nuts, but these didn't bother me at all.
The Feeling
I like the less is more ruffle collar. Some of the silk cami collars are too...patrician. I think they're awesome on super sale, but I end up not wearing the one's w/fruffly ruffly collars very much. As stated, I also really like that corset neckline and the fuller part of the body is a lil something different. The fullness of the top would look cute in contrast w/something more structured like a schoolboy blazer.

ReplyDeleteThank you Gigi- I had my eye on that top as well. It looks very nice on you. I wear sleeveless blouses all year round under cardigans and blazers, so I always check out the new offerings. I need to see if the champagne is see through. Although, I do wish they could make an interesting cami without any ruffles.

Well, I am pregnant. I bought the lilac color, loved it and see that it'll work for a lot of my pregnancy and post preg. so I went ahead and bought the other colors as well. I think I can cut the inside shell slightly to extend the wear. Then sew it up after the pregnancy. Thank you J crew for making a top I can wear during the pregnancy. I was slightly depressed thinking I'd have to take a J Crew break;)
