Size 8 - Tried on first without any shoes. I'm 5'2".
With a pair of wedges, at least 3" tall, I think. That's the Lucky Brand polka dot sweater ($99). I see it online at Lucky, but it's also available at Macy's. I don't see it online, though.
Side view, no shoes. You can see they're baggy in the thigh & at the knee. Well, all the way down the leg.
Adding the heel helps a bit, but the 6 would fit better.
The pockets were visible. Not as bad as I've seen on some white pants, but visible nonetheless.
The rear pockets were more visible than the front ones.
Another front view.
A closer view again of those pockets. Like I said, not too bad in the front.
The Feeling
I have absolutely no use for white wool pants. I would red wine these in a heartbeat. Or juice them or something. I think I thought they were Collection, so I expected them to feel luxe on. They felt like the regular cafe capris. I like the white. It's not a stark white. It's a pretty winter white, as the product name states. Thumb to the side because of those see-thru pockets. I would feel self-conscious about that.
The Feeling
This sweater is 100% cotton. It was cute & comfortable. Definitely gave me a springtime vibe.
In another post, a few of you asked about my black wedges who are by. I bought the Franco Sarto Helio in SP12. They ran TTS to me. I took a 7.5. Size 6 is currently available on Buy.com ($54.99).
These other wedges look solid:

Great pics of those pants. I wouldn't be able to get past the pocket issue. Other than that, they look like nice pants. Cute sweater too!!

These look like Suzy pants. You'd style them very well. Boo on the pockets.
DeleteYou look really cute in this outfit, Gigi! OT - what do you think of the cashmere boyfriend in stripes? I'm debating! Help! :)
ReplyDeleteinjanuity - I love the idea of an oversize sweater, esp in cashmere so I thought about that one. If I were getting it, I'd go for the navy/kelly which is a classic. The dealbreaker for me was the drop shoulder. I don't need to look like my shoulders start at my biceps. ;)
DeleteThanks for the advice, Gigi! That's something I wouldn't have even thought of. Always have to remember that JCrew styling doesn't always translate into real life...well at least my real life! :)
DeleteI think winter white can be so elegant but I must not fool myself--those trousers would be covered in Coke, coffee, and chocolate in five minutes!
ReplyDeleteHexicon, I'd spill on you if you didn't do it yourself lol
DeleteI really want winter white trousers in the worst way. I have the antique white pencil skirt and wear it often. I just can't get past the visible pocket thing. I think it looks so cheap. Probably what I need to do is look at more expensive options that are lined and the pockets don't show through. Or give up the dream. LOL!
ReplyDeleteDesert Flower - The antique white pencil skirt sounds so pretty. I would probably mess that up, too. I agree to go up in price and get bypass that whole visible pocket thing.
DeleteThese are lined FYI
DeleteLike Desert Flower, I've been wanting winter white trousers forever too and can't stand the visible pockets. I had heard these were not but still sad to see you confirming these are not the ultimate white trousers. Sigh, the search continues.
ReplyDeleteTiffany Rose - I'm sure I compromise, but not on white pants. You have to get it right. Period.
DeleteI tried these before the holidays (have a post somewhere) and decided not to get them because of the pockets and sheerness. However, I regretted because the pencil skirt didn't work for me (something off with the fit, not to mention that I never wear my winter pencils) and I really need a white bottoms to wear with two Milly tops that don't get worn enough. So I stalked and finally a pair popped up yesterday morning and already shipped. I went with a 2 in these (instead of my usual 0) because of the sheerness.
