Size S - I really didn't expect to like the dress & only tried it on to share pics. I thought it would be too long & too clingy. I was wrong. The arms fitted, but not too tight and there was drape where I needed it. This size felt great. The pics make it look pajama-y or lounge like. It's not the case in person. However, because there was looseness & drape, I went back to try the XS and it was too tight in the arms and shoulders. S is definitely the right size for me. I'm 5'2" and the dress measures approximately 56" from shoulder to hem. I got the feeling, so I had to get this one. Check it out on Audreybella, on Ema (last pics), on Life's Divine and on Shop With M.
I don't think I can wear it with flats. I'll have to have a wedge sandal. There are slits on either side of the dress that go up about 1/4 way. They don't hit the knee, which I think would look bad. the slits are long enough to allow for easy leg movement and it gives movement to the dress. The dress could be spiced up w/a belt, but I'm not convinced I'll be doing that. Do you belt your oversized muffins? *lol* Maybe a denim shirt unbuttoned and worn over and then maybe a belt over that. It could also try a buttondown shirt tied at the waist. I'll have to play with it a little to give more options than wearing it as-is.

I like this too, nice to see it on after Ema's post, may have to see if my store has it. It isn't too long as well as some are
ReplyDeleteYou look simply stunning, and Ema did too. I am shocked by this dress because I never would have thought a long sheath of wide stripes could look so elegant on. I'm 5'2" too---so you've convinced me! Great dress, and great bod, Mama!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that it doesn't get much longer in a S than in a XXS, as we can still see your shoes. Maybe this is a maxi with petites in mind and will be available in Tall (I am dreaming here).
ReplyDeleteIt looks really good on you Gigi. Instead of a shirt you could try a jeans jacket. I am also sure that it would look great with the right boyfriend black jacket, very Parisian!
Looks absolutely FAB on you!! I hear ya on the post-baby belting issue ... I typically throw on a big necklace instead! LOVE it - thank you for sharing!

Frothing at the mouth, I must get this dress, I loved it on Ema and you look amazing in it too.
ReplyDeleteI love it on you and on Ema too! Maxis don't usually look good on me but I want to try this one on!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so cute on you!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great on you! I'm really liking the dress, but since it's the perfect length on you and Ema, I'm worried it'll be too short on me. But maybe I could just wear flats with it? Anyway, I'll have to try it on. But it's really great on you! :)
ReplyDeleteI think this is really good on you! There are so many versions of the Maritime in the store now with Maxis. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteHOLD THE PHONE HERE. Wait a minute. I thought you had a baby!? YOU LOOK AMAZING IN THAT DRESS!
ReplyDeleteI can totally see how you got "the feeling" in it. The fit is great on you and I'm loving the length. I think a wedge espadrille or something along those lines will great with it.
Love! U look amazing. Is the dress straight? I'm wondering how it would look on my pear shaped self. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI like Pamela's comment. :) It's true, you look fab!
ReplyDeleteI love this dress, but that horizontal stripe right at the hip would probably look terrible on me...lol.
I will swoon over it on those of you that rock it so well...
That looks great on you Gi! And man, I am loving all the stripes this spring!
