Ann Taylor is having 30% off full price items with FRIDAY and it's good today only. I'm late to the party, but there are just under 3 hours to go as the code ends 11:59 PST. I'm happy to see this because there are a couple things I wanted to try and also to get something for my mom.
Dress#1 - It's wool. It's a shift, but looks pretty shapeless on the model. Usually they pin/tuck these things for the most flattering presentation. In any case, it's modest and a good price before the discount.
Dress #2 - When your 9 3/4 year old nephew gives the thumbs up and says it will look good on you, you wanna buy it. Alas I did not. I am quite sure I have a few graphic dresses around the knee length. I saw this in-person with said nephew and it's really pretty. Hung onto it in the cart for awhile hemming and hawing, but passed. I don't think I'll care for it more than a season. Not that all pieces have to last forever...
Dress #3 - Just bought the striped, long sleeved maxi that Ema/My Closet My Baby and I reviewed. Will put that review up next. This is sold out in P online anyway.
Top Row: I loved this white blouse when I saw it. Very loose and tummy friendly. It looked tunic, popover-y, but definitely not long which is sometimes a turnoff about tunics. Ordered in XS (reg, not petite). Thinking it might look really good w/the bubble necklace (irl pics). The blue silk blouse is gorgeous in person and the fit is great. Not for me though as it has spandex and grabbed my middle. I really wanted it to work, but JC's silk Blythe blouse (irl pics) is more friendly in that dept. The 2nd white blouse is one that my mom really liked. Hoping the size I ordered works and she likes the fit.
Bottom Row: The graphic top looks like the dress. The magenta, berry colored top has an interesting drape around the middle. Hemmed & hawed about this one because sometimes I buy tops like this and can never find them when I want or end up never wearing them for some other reason. It's online only though, so I ordered to have a look in-person. The dot top is really cute. The neckline wouldn't work for me as I think the pleats would not sit at the top of the bust in a flattering way. The print looks cute, though. It's 100% poly, however, it is machine washable. There are so many poly fabrics out there. Some nice, some not so nice. I'm sure none have air flow thru the fabric, but at least if it's easy to care for, that offsets the that downside.
Top Row: Neon belts! Such a great way to hook into the trend without committing to a top or -- egads! -- pants. You can look to Gap for pink or orange ($30) and then I saw a row of them at Target (even cheaper). I had to look away and not order that adorable striped scarf. I have so many scarves. The link necklace is similar to one at you know crew, but looks more sophisticated.
Middle Row: The rectangular ring has tassels hanging from it. That could be totally annoying or totally fun. I thought it was an interesting detail. The next two items are not gold plated beer cozies. They're cute cuffs.
Bottom Row: Ann Taylor knows how to do a handbag. The colorblocking on the clutch and handbag are right up my alley. No handbags for me as I am full up on them. And you know...I tend to only carry the same one in heavy rotation. The hobo bag looks bad@ss and I don't even like hobos. Also comes in bright blue and yellow! Bam!
Thanks, as always, for stopping by...

I need to visit Ann Taylor more. My local one never seems to catch my attention from the displays. Great reviews.
ReplyDeleteI love that clutch, it looks very Reed Krakoff only much less expensive. I am always drawn to clutches and they're completely impractical. Although I'd love to pick this one up with the promo, I'm not going to.
