Sunkist dresses

Anyone grow up drinking Sunkist soda? It came in a purdy orange can. I felt like it was a tad healthy. Surely it had orange juice in it, right? I think I was the only one in the house who liked it, so my mom didn't buy it in six packs. It was when we had school field trips that I got to get one from the store. I wrapped it in foil to keep cold and put it in my lunch. It was the only time I could have soda in school. Until I got to high school, of course.

The orange color that's hot this season has definitely caught my eye. Many have tried on J Crew's Cecilia dress, but few to no rave reviews. There are definitely some other options out there:

Top row
* Eliza J ($118)
* Eliza J ($118) - so cute!
* Calvin Klein ($128 ) - 40% off everything promo auto applied at checkout

Bottom row
* Soma Intimates ($55)
* Old Navy ($39.94)
* J Crew ($118)

Top row
* Talbots - $99
* Tahari - $128
* Talbots - $99
* Victoria's Secret - $55.50

Bottom row
* Zappos - $129
* Tahari - $89

Are you getting 'sunkist' this season? If orange isn't for you, is there another bright you're playing with...?

  1. I love orange for this summer. Orange and blue are perfect combination!

  2. I am obsessed with orange this season. Love all your selections! I got the Blythe silk top on the poppy color, which is a dark orange, and I love it!

  3. Great selections - I love the bright oranges and reds that are available in the stores now. I picked up a Zara orange shift dress (posted on my blog here) - it was less expensive and with the V-neck, a little more flattering on me than the J. Crew urbanite dress.

  4. I bought the crossover belted dress from Loft in an orangish-red about a month ago....they only have the olive color left online, but the bright orange/red color is awesome if you can find it in stores still....very flattering dress!

  5. I will be getting Sunkisted this summer. I just bought an orange maxi dress from F21 and I can't wait to wear it. Plus, I just bought an orange MAC lipstick. I think I'll hunt down some cute orange tops next.

  7. I totally drank orange soda as a kid but I can't touch it anymore after drinking those horrible diabetes test drinks (that taste like orange soda except like 10x more sugar) when I was pregnant each time. That pretty much ruined it for me. I still do love the color though! I usually stick to corals but I have my eye on a "Sunkist" colored top at Anthro right now!

  8. Oh girl, you are talking about my favorite color of the moment! I think I own everything J Crew has put out recently in their "modern red" color sans the sardina espadrilles (but I'll get you pretties when you hit sale, bwahaha).

    I think this is such a bright fun shade that is surprisingly very flattering on a multitude of skintones!

  9. That Talbots knit henley dress has been calling my name. I will have to go check it out.

  10. Orange is such a pretty color but it does not work near my face so no dresses or tops for me. I have a few orange skirts: the J.Crew double-serge wool pencil from 2008, the J.Crew lattice-print pencil skirt (also have the brown version) and a hibiscus-print layered pencil skirt from Club Monaco that is probably 4 years old. I have papaya perfect-fit and Maya cardigans that require some other shirt underneath so I can temper the orange even though they are quite soft shades that work better with my skin tone.

    That's the extent of my orange clothing and it is sufficient. I see all the love for the orange Ceclia dress and think to myself, "Never in a million years..." To each their own!

  11. I'm glad retailers are doing more with pretty oranges but I am always on the hunt for true red pieces and everything is orange! I have been burned by some misleading retailer website photos thinking I was getting a red item and getting an orangey one in the mail.

    I did fall in love with J. Crew's retro orange paisley pencil skirt but it had no stretch and was not flattering on me. I think I may pick up a few orange accents but I shall never betray my red!

  12. Sunkist soda was my fave as a kid too! I wish I could wear orange but it does not work with my complexion. Lately I've been drawn to coral and turquoise.

  13. Orange is one of my favorite colors for the spring. I just need to find the right dress!s

  14. Oh No! (covers her eyes) I am so addicted to orange again! I am always drawn to it, but right now I just keep picking everything in that colour... I really should not look at these beauties you've selected but...

    I love that Talbots henley dress (it's a slightly different shade...right?)

  15. I'm one of the few who liked the Cecilia dress in retro orange. I wore it yesterday, in fact. It is such a fun dress! I'm also really into orange this season, of course it partly has to do with the fact that retailers are pushing it at us this year. Even though I already have the Dorrie skirt, I would really like an orange midi skirt, but can't seem to find one.
