Loft - more irl pics

Congratulations to fshononmymind (hope I spelled that right) of Notes From the Dressing Room, winner of the $100 Shopbop gift card giveaway. Please respond to my email with 48 hours of the send date/time.
*******************************************

As stated in the earlier post, 30% off your entire purchase continues at Loft. The online code is GOFORIT and free shipping is automatically applied on $100 or more. The promo is automatically applied in-stores and you can use your Loft Cares card for an additional 20% if your purchase is $100 or more. Visiting the store is the best deal given the availability of sale merchandise in the 2 stores I visited. I don't know if people have been able to use their Loft Cares card online. My guess is no, otherwise there would be a code going around online. However, I haven't researched it. Perhaps you can have customer service help you out.

If you visit the store, remember that Loft has sale mixed in with regular merchandise in some cases. Many of these pieces are no longer available online, but you know now what to keep your eye out for if you like any of these. I'm not sure if the promo will end today, Sunday, or go until Monday. You might call your local store to see if they know and/or if they will tell you. Sometimes they say they don't know until they arrive in the store, but I don't always believe that. Last week's promo had 2 components. The additional 50% off clearance component ended on Sunday. Whereas the 30% off new arrivals component ended on Monday. Interestingly, on Monday, all of the clearance items were cut almost to what they were with the additional 50% off. Can't keep up w/these retail promos these days. It's like a part time job to figure out how to get the best deal, esp when they are running them back-to-back.

Short sleeve hooded sweater coat (250146) - Size SP - Loft does sweater jackets really well. The weave is usually beautiful as is the case w/this one. I didn't like the short sleeves in contrast to such a heavy coat and there are no pockets. Many of their sweater coats are sans pockets. I'm sure that helps keep production cost down. Many retail around $79.50 and you know if you wait a moment, you can find a promo, such as the one they're running right now. 71% acrylic, 17% wool, 12% alpaca. It felt very soft and I was surprised to see no cotton in the fabric mix.

All over sparkle tank top (248845) - Size PM - The fit wasn't right for me. When I had it on I got a flash of Russell Crowe in a breastplate, so I think there are better sequin tanks out there for some. Wanted to be sure to share as this is what I'm wearing under the sweatercoat directly above.

Corsage sweater (249424) - Size PM - Very cute. Also comes in pink with white stripes. It looks very spring-like. I found these folded and totally hidden on a shelf in the corner of the store. Keep your eyes peeled.

Drapey long sleeve tee (252765) - Size PS - The sleeve were super tight and I think they would be in a PM as well. Could be a nice top if it flatters your figure. It's so thin though.

Metallic cable sweater - Size PS - Loft does a nice sweater even though I'm not a fan of the stitching that makes it look like it's being worn inside out. I'm not sure if I would stay w/PS or go for PM. I'd have to try on that size to compare. Probably PM to give some room, though. ETA: This was itchy.

Bold brush stripe scarf - This scarf was nice enough. I am on scarf overload, so it's hard to be objective. I don't know what material it's made out of. I don't recall it being scratchy, but I don't remember it being esp cozy or soft either. FYI -- when shopping Loft, you might think all of the scarves are confined to one area. That's not nesc the case. In both of the stores I visit the scarves are in 2 or 3 places.

Ruffles & rosettes tee (250002) - PM -

Sweater jacket with double layer (249935) - Size S - I only saw this in regular, not petite. Very cute. Again, no pockets.

Sweater toggle coat (252018) - Size S - A PS would be better. As with many sweater coats form Loft, no pockets.

The notions are plastic.

Also...
* Assets firming tank, firming cami and firming slip

* Assets firming shorts, firming mid-thigh and firming maternity

* Boat neck sweater with twist - The twist is an interesting detail. I didn't see this one to try on. It may have not hit my store yet. Will be great on the right figure & possibly maternity.

* Sensationally soft turtleneck sweater - I like the button detail on the sleeve. You'll probably need to look for P sizes if you are so the sleeves aren't too long.

* Long & lean cardigan

Loft - 30% off entire purchase

The 30% off your entire purchase continues at Loft. The online code is GOFORIT and free shipping is automatically applied on $100 or more. The promo is automatically applied in-stores and you can use your Loft Cares card for an additional 20% if your purchase is $100 or more. Clearly visiting the store is the best deal. Also, I have seen better availability of sale merchandise in the 2 stores I visited.

Pleated sweater top dress (244284) - Size XS - Boo on the drop waist for my figure.

Easy v-neck sweater dress (247040) - Size S - I couldn't tell if this was a dress or tunic as I looked at it on the hanger. It was longer than I expected and, as discovered, a dress. Only $29.99 before the 30% off.

Striped drape neck tee (251608) - Size M - The S was too tight at the stomach. The M was nicer because it brought out the drape across the chest & fell a bit more off the shoulder. Holding the camera is ruining the way the top looks. It's really cute. It's thin, though, and more of a spring/summer top.

Painted stripe boat neck tee - I'm not sure which size I tried, but it was probably regular S and definitely not a petite size.

Sequin bib tee - Size S - I didn't like this. Too tight on the stomach for me.

Rosette halter cami - Size S - I'm guessing a PS or PM would have less volume. I didn't really care for this color, but the blonde model looks great in it. Loft had a this in a scoopneck tank sans rosette earlier in the year. It's poly and I wish they would reconsider putting most of their tops in that fabric. On the upside it's machine washable.

Wing print ruffle blouse - Size S - Also poly, which is a huge turnoff in most cases.

Another thing I don't like about Loft tops is the banded bottoms or bubble hems. I'm sure they want to mix it up a bit, so they go for the bubble hem, but it never seems to fall right on me and cannot be tucked in easily.

Talbots - jacquard bow dress

Talbots jacquard bow dress runs in regular, petite & woman sizes. The color pattern is called gingerbread rose ja, which probably stands for jacquard.

Size 6P - The fit was great on this for me. Great dress. Check it out on 1 More Shopping Blog.

Shoes (7.5): Bandolino Adiva (Similar here here and here)

J Crew - solid Sundrine flannel shirtdress

J Crew's solid Sundrine flannel shirtdress (32453) runs 0-14. The color choices are heather grey & heather elm.100% wool.

Heather elm - Size 4 - Q. Whatcha gonna do w/all that junk, all that junk, all that junk? A. Put it in the larger of your two J Crew dress sizes. A size 6 would fall in a nicer way over my frame. I wouldn't rule this dress out for me, pero no lo estoy sintiendo either. Plz correct my Spanish if it's not accurate. I'm trying to say I'm not feeling it. ;-)

We always love the pockets.

ETA:  Old Navy's tie-waist dress has the same idea, but is a more modern cut. No fussy drop waist either. Comes in 4 colors patterns. This is black gingham.

The Sundrine also comes in gingham. Check it out on Dina G. Check out the solid Sundrine on Audreybella.

What say you? Does a drop waist dress bring back memories from a decade gone by? Too Little House on the Prairie for you? I love LHOTP and own the collector's edition. I don't dress like it, though.

J Crew - 20% off sweaters

Today is the last day for an automatic 20% off sweaters at J Crew in-store & online. You can get your free shipping on $100 or more with YQC83N thru 11/4.

Arrow sweater jacket - Irl pics

Alexie sweater - on Ema

Ariana tipped cardigan - On The Mothership mommydearest said, "Runs TTS to slightly big - I think the thin knit might stretch out. Thin also means sheer. I was in the store a few weeks ago and all 3 SAs had it on, but styled differently. I didn't even notice it was the same sweater."

Cashmere keyhole sweater - on Ema

Merino sequined crochet cardigan - on Lindsey B.
Donegal cropped V-neck cardigan - on Ema

Infinity cardigan - Irl pics

Merino sequined crochet cardigan - on Ema

Waffled cashmere zip sweater - on Ema

Jackie cardigan (29350) - Irl pics of the nightfall blue (last pic). Some people think the Jackie will go lower in price. I find that if I wait, the color & size I want are not available at the 1st cut, which is usually $39.99. I have dark rosewood (S) & love it. It looks great over the Pilar and Jaipur prints. It's also a good time to order the Jackie shell on sale. You might have better luck waiting for those to go much lower. I stopped ordering them because crewneck doesn't work as well for me as v-neck. J Crew, it would be RAD if you'd make the Jackie shell in a v-neck! :-)

The henna color was a disappointment. I didn't recognize it right away and had to check the tag to confirm. The info on the photo says I'm in a S, but that's not accurate. I'm in a size M. I always buy Jackies in S.

Cerise is a traffic cone orange with some firecrackers inside. Or a neon carrot. Take your pick. I kinda likes it. Hide your kids, hide your wives, but you will not be hiding yourself in this. Wrong info on this photo, too. I'm in a M, not S.
