Ariana tipped cardigan - On The Mothership mommydearest said, "Runs TTS to slightly big - I think the thin knit might stretch out. Thin also means sheer. I was in the store a few weeks ago and all 3 SAs had it on, but styled differently. I didn't even notice it was the same sweater."

Jackie cardigan (29350) - Irl pics of the nightfall blue (last pic). Some people think the Jackie will go lower in price. I find that if I wait, the color & size I want are not available at the 1st cut, which is usually $39.99. I have dark rosewood (S) & love it. It looks great over the Pilar and Jaipur prints. It's also a good time to order the Jackie shell on sale. You might have better luck waiting for those to go much lower. I stopped ordering them because crewneck doesn't work as well for me as v-neck. J Crew, it would be RAD if you'd make the Jackie shell in a v-neck! :-)
The henna color was a disappointment. I didn't recognize it right away and had to check the tag to confirm. The info on the photo says I'm in a S, but that's not accurate. I'm in a size M. I always buy Jackies in S.
Cerise is a traffic cone orange with some firecrackers inside. Or a neon carrot. Take your pick. I kinda likes it. Hide your kids, hide your wives, but you will not be hiding yourself in this. Wrong info on this photo, too. I'm in a M, not S.

OH Gigi.... you had me at hide your kids.... am still laughing. Love that guy! Talk about a brother who is passionate about family!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the links Gigi. I caved and bought the Donegal, I see myself wearing it a lot. I know it will go on sale in probably a month but whatever. BTW, the lumiere cardigan is $29.99 in store, a steal.
ReplyDeleteI so agree with the Jackie coming in a v-neck! I never button my cardigans and they just seem to hang better if they have a v-neck!
ReplyDeleteI have never bought a Jackie, which I think is weird considering how many J. Crew sweaters I have. I will buy for sure if they do v-neck though! I love that neon orange, Gigi. It's really a great color and it would brighten up all the neutral skirts and pants a person owns. Except black, of course, lest we look like Halloween decorations.
ReplyDeleteBummer about the henna color -- you're right, doesn't look at all like I imagined. Would looove a v-neck Jackie. Ema - can't believe the lumiere is $30 -- total steal! I'm wearing mine today and love it.
ReplyDeleteI kinda like the Henna colour, maybe because I have the zip pocket cardi in Sepia, which is similar in colour and looks good on my pasty skin. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pics!
Thanks for the pics, Gigi. I almost ordered the henna jackie and I would have been upset. The IRL color does NOT match the color shown on the website!
ReplyDeleteAfter posting on JCA several times about how I don't need any more sweaters, I ordered two on the last day of the sweater sale. My sweet DIL sent me her 20% off code and that sent me over the edge. I ordered two more totally unnecessary cashmere hoodies to add to my already bulging collection. The pullover hoodie in navy and the zip hoodie in whatever they call the teal color. Plus another pencil skirt. And don't forget the Talbots sweater I picked up earlier this week. Do they have a 12 step program for cashmere sweater addiction?
lol You are a mess! Hide ya sweaters! Hide ya coats! Cause I'm buying everything up in here..
ReplyDeleteI decided to take advantage of this promo and got the retro orange Alexie. It is definitely a notice me color like cerise, but I love it anyway.
ReplyDeleteI do better with v-necks than crewnecks too. I would definitely get the Jackie if it came in that version because of all the wonderful colors, like that dark rosewood. I was all set to get a black tee, but that rosewood was calling me so I ordered that instead.
You are not the only one disappointed in the henna color. I saw the wool bell skirt in henna in the catalog and was this close to ordering it. Good thing I went to the store first because it is not as rich and a nice combo of red and brown as it appears in that picture. That was a no thank you, I'll pass for me.
Whoa, check out that cerise color! I think it'd look really great with a navy blue outfit! But it certainly is LOUD.
ReplyDeleteJust got my scarf in the mail from Lori's shoes...(the one you have featured). Wanted to say a big THANKS to you! I wasn't sure it would look as cute in person but it looks exactly like it did online. And, for 15 bucks and free shipping it was a great deal! (I think survey5 was the promo code for 5 off):)
ReplyDeleteI ordered the ribbed open shawl-collar cardigan in xxs. I was really pleased to see that size and decided not to wait and see if it would still be around at a lower price. I also used thefree shipping code shown at JCA. I am a sucker for big comfy cardis, even on my tiny frame.
ReplyDeleteI really like the cerise color. I was surprised to find it as bright IRL as it appears online. I also really liked the henna, but I swear it didn't look as brown IRL as it does on you. Maybe my computer color needs some help? :) And, I SO agree that a v-neck jackie would be great! I prefer a v-neck but I love the jackies, so I have several of them. If JC did it in a v-neck, I'd probably buy almost every color! Okay, well not that many, but you get the idea. It's a great idea and I think you should email your suggestion to Mickey. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I held off on the Henna after seeing your pictures - that color certainly isn't what I thought it would be from their website!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of sweaters, I LOVE the Loft fair isle sweater dress on you from a few posts ago, you look stellar in that!
