Old Navy - new arrivals (1 of 3)

I have quite a few pics from ON, so I'll be doing at least one more post after this one today.

Ruffled-Neck Cardigan - Comes in 6 colors

Size XS - With the Weekend jeans in size 6 regular. I was very disappointed that these were distressed with slashes. You can't see that in the photo. I can deal with a slight worn in look, though I don't like it too much on white pants. All out slashes I cannot deal with.

Beaded cuff bracelet - I ended up returning this. Seed beads aren't my favorite, I'm starting to realize. I have a few pieces and that's fine. I think I prefer a stone bracelet like this one.

Seed bead necklace -This is done pretty well. If the coin pieces bug, you could always remove them. I think they add interest. Apparently you have to loose & pull the cord on this to size it. I couldn't figure that out without feeling like I was going to break it.

Ribbed scoop-neck tee - I really liked the turquoise accent on this. I just don't like ribbing on a tee. The ribbing adds weight in-person, imo. I think this is a S.

Cinch-tie cardigan - Size S - I really liked this one. It felt comfortable on. Maternity alert, for those of you expecting. It would be a good transition piece, I'm guessing.

Flower applique cardigan - I didn't see this in-store yesterday. So cute. It also comes in a navy color w/the lighter applique.

Cropped rosette cardi - This looks adorable. Yah, yah, you can stick a flower pin on a sweater. I agree. The upside to cardis like this is the appliques are so light they're not going to weigh the sweater down like flower pins can.

~ Clearance rack ~

* Cotton twill shift dress - Limited sizes left, but I like the look of the khaki and that happens to be the lowest in price at $9.99. The description doesn't mention pockets, but you may not want them if you're trying to layer under with a turtleneck or over with a blazer.

* Denim pencil skirt - In black, sizes 0-6 & 20 still available on sale. I wear a 2 regular in ON pencil skirts. Or check out this one -- now $9.99! --that I tried on here.

* One-button blazer - Chocolate brown for $14.99. It looks like the one from this post. However, this one appears to have a little ruching at the shoulders. That sometimes works for me sometimes not. But for $14.99...

* Satin trimmed cardi - $9.99 - $14.99 - There are also a couple colors left in Tall and heather oatmeal in plus sizes. Urrrxtra primo good price if you can use the EXTRA25, which ends today. You need to have a BR/Gap/ON card for the promo.

Thanks for stopping by...

  1. Yay! Thanks for the reviews, I ordered all 3 of the sweaters you posted, and I'm excited to hear that they were nice IRL. My package should be here tomorrow :)

Regarding maternity transition pieces...as a mom of 3 may I add to your post about J.Jill that their clothes are fantastic for the first few months of pregnancy, and the first few weeks after delivery. I had a few knit pieces that were just perfect for when I wasn't big enough for maternity clothes or small enough for my regular size wardrobe.

  2. Gigi, thanks for the reviews! I 'll have to check out ON this week. I did order the weekend jeans in white and I share your views on the slashes. But, I may try putting a white denim iron on patch on the INSIDE of the jeans (I've done this with the darker denim pairs I have) to hold together the "holes". My only concern with the white ones is that the patch will show through. I am hoping with this fix they will just look distressed, not destroyed! I got them with a 30% off online deal a few weeks ago , so it's a great price for jeans that I would just wear around the house with a tee or to do errands.

  3. The ruffle neck cardi looks great on you! Did you like it? It's cuter on you than in the picture of it alone.

  4. Oh that ruffle cardi is so cute on you. I am not sure what to think about the slashes on the jeans, I mean, I must confess I used to do that to my jeans during my Pearl Jam/Nirvana days. But I am older now and that look is not for me anymore.

  5. The ruffle neck cardi looks great! I haven't seen it in person yet, but was underwhelmed by the pic on the website. You're making me reconsider.

Also, the slashes on the white weekend jeans are what turned me off, too. I did notice a pair of white skinny jeans in the "sweetheart" rise in store that looked promising. I don't see them available online yet.

  6. I desperately want that ruffle neck cardigan, and have been to every Old Navy in the area, and no dice. I was really hoping to catch it this weekend with that 30% off the entire store.

Did you like it? You didn't really say. I think it looks great on you.

    Thanks for the reviews!

  7. Jan Russell - Ooh, I hope you like the sweaters you ordered. Thanks for chiming in about J. Jill. I didn't think of it for maternity. I can definitely see it since the clothes look loose & breezy.

txmom - I didn't think about denim patches. I returned the white ones. I was too annoyed with the slashes to think of keeping them. Hopefully they'll introduce another white jean for spring or summer.

Anon/2:58 PM - Yes, I *did* like the papaya colored ruffle sweater. I'm keeping it so far. I'm on the fence about it because I have their other ruffle neck one from last year in essentially the same color. I definitely wanted to show the stock pic on this in contrast to the irl pic because I agree that it's much cuter in person. I love the way it frames the neck. It's cuter on you than in the picture of it alone.

Rosa in DC - If the slashes or rips in jeans happen naturally, that's one thing. Spending my money on things that are already ripped...I just pause before doing so. I hear ya :-)

Kristin - The ruffle neck cardi is way cuter in person. It caught me off guard, actually. I hope ON has other white jeans coming. I'm not sure about white skinnies, but I would try them on before final judgment.

Madeline P - I didn't see the ruffle neck in-store. It could be an online only style. Sometimes it's hard to tell which ON styles are online only even though they have them in a particular section. The timing of online arrival vs in-store just may be off.

  8. Lands End has a cute ruffle cardigan just like this on sale for less than ON. I own two LE ones. They have cute brass/gold buttons with the ruffle around the neckline. I would rec. over the ON ones if they have any left online due to better quality! So cute and going fast! Might also find some at Sear/Land's End store
