Mukluk Boots

There's a Born boutique open on Rue La La. I am seriously contemplating these cute boots. G Money said a little too...mukluk-y, but me likey the mukky lukky.

Born Jolie - $99 - I really love the sturdy bottom. I love Uggs, real & faux, but look at the bottom on these. They're really going to grip the earth. Without snow here, the light color is fine for me. But that's what protective spray is for anyway, right?
Here's another bargain in the Born boutique:
Born Norelle - $89
Click here to join Rue La La.
Now back to the mukluks...before I make a decision, I try to go around & see if I can if I can find something similar for a lower price. Or just confirm that my 1st pick is really what I want. I mean, doesn't it drive you crazy when you place an order and then see something that you think is cuter? And if it's a lower price, the pain is that much greater. ;-)

MUKLUKS - Brown leather boots - I love this look, but prefer a taller boot.
Manitobah Mukluks Women's Braided - Umm...why are these sold out? I don't want them, but apparently a lot of other women did.
Manitobah Mukluks - Now this I like. However, I would really feel the need to run around with wild hair & a knife in my mouth. These evoke those as necessary accessories when I see these. So while very hawt, perhaps too authentic or primal for me.
If this mukluk stuff is just muckety muck for you, check out this bargain on Amazon:

EMU Bronte Boot- $43.65 for this chestnut color - I am loving my Costco boots and if I didn't have those, I would probably try these.

Mukluks? Uggs? Fauxuggs? Which are for you? Or not.

Chime in...

  2. They spelled Manitoba wrong.

You live in California, you don't need mukluks :) But, they're better than Uggs, so if you likey I say go for it.

  3. Lawgurl - The Borns are cool. It'll be my first pair. I went for it in my regular size of 7.5. Returns are allowed on this item, so it doesn't feel risky. I hate returning shoes, pita, but at least I have the option.

Desert Flower - I've noticed that sometimes the shoemakers spell things in an odd way. In some cases, it probably creates less problems for them...such as the TV show Arrested Devel settling out of court with the music group, Arrested Devel. The muks will be good for the ice rink & for visiting the ILs in Oregon. :-)

  4. I have a pair of Mukluks that I bought from Neiman Marcus probably 4 or 5 years ago and I still wear them. I actually wore them almost the whole time I was in Lake Placid. They are okay in the snow but honestly the sole are pretty thin, it would have been better if they were thicker for more warmth.

The Borns are cute, I actually saw a similar pair at a Marshalls yesterday on sale for $69.

  5. I got the cutest Mukluks on eBay. They are by Steve Madden and called "Eskimmo" (yes, with two "m"s). I got mine for about $50 including shipping, and they were like new. I don't live in a particularly cold climate (Washington is fairly mild), but who cares? My husband calls them my Pocahontas boots (hey, Pocahontas is cute, right?), but they're incredibly warm and cushiony and cute. Love 'em!

  6. Summer - Thanks for visiting. My sister cleans up at Marshalls with most of her items being under $10/ea. Perhaps she needs to teach me how to shop there.

Jenny K - I looked up the Eskimmos online and they are cute in the grey I saw. I cannot see wearing them in pink or white like the Manitobahs. Great price for you! Ebay can be heavenly.

  7. Cute boots, I wonder how they would hold up in the snow as Summerilla said.

Gigiofca: Thank-you for your kind words on FFM blog the other day, you are sooo right! How are you doing?

  8. Have you done a mini-review of the Costco "Uggs"? I saw people going crazy over them a few weeks ago in the store.... but I just breezed by assuming they weren't even leather, etc... I have Uggs, but I'd love to snag some black ones maybe next year onthe cheap ... could you tell us more about yours.... or maybe I should search your blog first to see if you already did!!

I'm getting ready to do a post on my blog about three great pairs of boots I found in a clearance room on Monday! Glad I'm not the only one obsessed with boots!

  10. casual-crew - Thanks for visiting. I hope you are feeling a little less rattled. And honor your feelings...you still feel weirded out in a few months, that's ok. I am doing well. I am hoping to get behind the wheel soon. I won't be able to stop by store for blog pics, but I'll be able to run short errands. Looking forward to it!

Lindsey B. - Glad you found the Costco fauxuggs. I really like them and was thinking of getting a 2nd pair since they come in dark chocolate & grey. They're probably sold out now. What I'm loving about the Borns is the whole foot area looks very sturdy. The fauxuggs are fine, but I often feel like I'm trudging along. I hope to feel like I'm walking -- not trudging or dragging -- in the Borns.
