Martin + Osa

Check this out -- the Halogen Sequin Cardi that FFM blogged about is marked down to $58 online. Yesterday I ordered it for in-store pickup and just saw my email confirmation. The price I was charged is $42.90. Woot woot! I ended up returning the shimmering constellation cardi because I prefer the sequins spread out rather than clustered together. *So* hoping the Halogen works out for me. I got ivory as black wasn't available near me.

I had to come back and add...if you are shopping NY & Co, check out their sequin sweatshirt. I got a S in the light grey and was a little bummed that I didn't get XS. It slouched more during the day. I still loved it though. And I love it even more now that I've washed & machine dried it. All sequins are still in place and it shrunk back up a bit. I wanted it slouchy & casual so I'm glad I have the S. I would order this all over again. Take 30% off your NY & CO purchase with 1252, excluding redlines.

Let's have a look...

Striped High Button Cardigan - On sale for $31.80 - comes in a couple other colors - 60% modal, 34% silk, 5% wool, 1% Lurex + nylon

Sequin V-Neck Cardigan - I kinda like that the sequins don't go all the way down the front. It's nice for someone who wants the bling but in lowercase letters and sans exclamation marks. Also comes in black.

Cashmere + Silk V-Neck Sweater - Also comes in red, navy & purple. I don't wear tons of pink but love this color.

Sailor Stripe Crew Tee - Comes in 5 colors and you should see the golden green color they call gold cup. You don't have a stripe tee yet? Join us. They go with everything. Under boyfriend blazers. Under buttondowns. Under sweaters. Solo with skirts or jeans. "With jeans..." (always a knee slapper)

Long-Sleeve Striped Floral Tee - On sale for $29.50 - Super cute. And ooooh, a v-neck. The mixed news...mixed fabrics -- poly & rayon...hmmm... And one more striped tee here, only $14.50.

Denim Western Shirt - For those of us chasing the ever elusive Perfect Denim Shirt, we could try this. The description on this says it has a lightweight feel. There is a western style yoke on the back. I have to say, J Crew totally nailed the denim look/shirt with a soft feel when they did the contrast stitch perfect shirt. If you own one of those, you are lucky. And if you have a size 6 to sell...holla!...gigiofca at gmail.

Georgette Long-Sleeve Henley - Interesting tonal contrast on this one.

Pleated Cami - It's poly & it only comes in black, but it looks beautifully constructed.

So....that's my 1st thorough visit on the Martin & Osa site. SanFranciscoCA has raved about how great the clothing looks in person. The website is well organized & easy to navigate, but doesn't excite me. I liked some of their fabric blends which include organic cotton & soybean. It's a surprise that they also have polyester, but I imagine there are some limitations to design ideas with some of the organic fabrics. Poly can be make into anything. And for the record...I don't hate poly. It just has to feel right & I have to at least feeeel like my skin is going to be able to breathe enough in it. I will still be visiting M+O in person for irl pics.

  1. I love finding good coupons on Restaurant.com. I didn't know they were on ebates! But I suppose I didn't miss much if I was only paying $2 per coupon!
We don't have a Martin+Osa here in the Milwaukee area so I am super excited to see you doing online and IRL reviews. It will make me feel more comfortable placing an online order! Thanks!

  2. I ordered their slim cut destroyed denim before Christmas for the crazy low price of $37. And I love it- it does stretch, so I should have sized down, but a quick trip through the hot water helped. Denim is substantial, and the fading, whiskering, and "holes" are artfully done, but not to the point where it feels like it's going to rip. Also got a cotton/cashnere/soy blend sweater- nice long length, soft fabric, nice & warm. It was my first M+O order, and I am pleased.

  4. Thanks for the review.

I have the cashmere v-neck sweater in zinc purple. I really don't like the side seams - they are crooked! When I looked closely at the photos, they are suppose to be like that. It's very weird. I kept the sweater because it's super comfortable, it's cashmere and I think I got it for about $20. M&O has great sales.

The sequin v-neck sweater in black is on its way to me. I hope it's a keeper.

  5. I have to say, while some things are hit or miss with M+O, the things that work, are fabulous. My favorite is their jeans. I cannot say enough about how much I love thier jeans! I always wait until they go on sale for under 40$, and they are so worth it. The fit and quality is fantastic! (Much better than J Crew imo)
I have the Long-Sleeve Striped Floral Tee, and several of the the other striped tee you mentioned and also the denim western shirt in the darker color.I love them all. M+O usually has pretty good promotions (it was 25% off for a long while before the holidays) and always free shipping and FREE RETURNS(!) with $100. The free return part is what got me to purchase from them in the first place.

  7. I have the floral striped tee and love it! I didn't even realize it has poly content.... I have been very impressed with most of their offerings - very high quality. My problem is that they don't offer petites so most of them items are too long:)
