Costco finds. Yeah...Costco

Costco's Kirkland label has a shearling boot that retails for $34.99. The colors are grey, chocolate brown (dark brown, kind of dull, almost black) and tan (pictured). The box said genuine shearling or something to that effect, but I figured they would be manmade on the outside. The tag inside says sheepskin upper, sheepskin insock, synthetic sole.

At my local Costco, the tan was almost sold out. Here is a comparison of it to the Ugg boot (left).

Grey - I almost got the grey, but my brother said the color was dull in comparison to the tan.

XS - Nine West puff vest - $19.99 - I can't remember all the colors, but this one is chocolate brown, there was black, white and one or two other colors.

I love the vest because it is warm, but not bulky. Plus the price is great. The J Crew puffer is $118 this year. I have J Crew puffer in navy and missed the chocolate one. I'm happy to have this one from Costco. Puffers are good investments because they last multiple seasons. It's just nice to get it at this price because I usually wear them to the gym (haven't gone at all) or nephews' soccer games. I have never worn one as styled w/pencil skirts & such in the J Crew catalogs.

The shearling boots are a great bargain. I have tried on Uggs multiple times and they are very comfortable, but I just don't like the way they look on me. I am not convinced these are that cute either (it's that puffy toe!), but for $35 they will do. I had a shearling boot by Rebel that I paid $80-$100 for a couple seasons ago. I did *not* want to get them dirty at all and it was hard to be comfortable. I won't mind muckety mucking these up for $35.

My mom showed up to my house the other day in a very cute pair of cropped capris. She got them at Costco. I was very surprised. I usually don't go thru the clothes there because...I guess I just don't know how to shop it. No mirrors?

Have you shopped Costco for clothes? Have any tips? Chime in...

  2. Oh, I have! I love the Lady Hathaway camis, the lovely puffer vests (have one from last year in white), the calvin klein jeans, dockers capris...you know, basics. :) I love that you shop with your bro, too. Glad to know I am not alone in spending a lot of time with grown siblings!

  3. Costco!! I never would have thought of that. Actually once I got a catalog for either Sams or Costco that had outrageous diamond jewelry (like $20,000!!!)

  4. Kathy - Mine, too! Come to think of it, we got 2 plaid shirts for FIL's bday last year.

dinagideon - You're on it. Yes, I happened to be w/my brother today. I had him in picture patrol. *lol* He's great.

Julia - Yes, they have very expensive jewelry. It looks very pretty, but I would never think to look there.

  8. I buy lots of basics at Costco.
As for the no changing room issue, I just buy what I think will look good on me. If it doesn't, I just return it on my next trip. I don't try to return on the weekend. It's just too crazy and I am too impatient. But other than the lineup issue, Costco is easy for returns.

I'm going to go look for those boots. I wonder if they made it up here to Canada.

  9. Ok, I'm going to have to make a trip to our Costco. Great looking shearling boots and vest! I got my daughter some really cute Lilly Pulitzer dresses at Costco last year...I'm always surprised at what great things you can find there!

  10. I love my red Nine West puffer. Costco has great prices on kids' clothing as well. Returns are easy too as long as you go at the right time of day.
I actually bought my second wedding ring there and it was a great price for very good quality diamonds.

  11. I also love the Lady Hathaway camis there at Costco. My problem is with the no changing room thing, I always end up having to return items like pants b/c I can't try them on first.

I have gotten hubby some great shorts and Lucky jeans there before - why is it that guys never have to try stuff on?

I'm going to go today to check out the boots, what a great price for genuine shearling! Thanks for the heads up!

  12. Love the boots - I will have to check mine. A friend mentioned that they have some fab trench coats, so I want to check those out, too. Costco can be quite the source - I got E 2 Lilly dresses there spring 2008.

  13. Those boots are very nice - I'm back in the place without a Costco, but maybe will ask my mom to do recon for me next time she's there. Cute! I like the grey.

  15. Alright Gigi, I got some Fuggs today!

My Costco had a ton of them in Black, Grey, Chocolate and not quite as much in Tan. I think people here probably don't want to think about sheepskin on their feet right now since its been over 100 daily and won't cool down for a few weeks.

Thanks again, I'm glad I found some!

  16. oh yeah-Costco! I got 2 cropped capris there (Calvin Klein) for around $14 each. I lived in them all summer. So comfortable! Did your mom have the ones that have a tab at the hem? I also have the Lady Hathaway camis too. I hate not having a dressing room but if the price is right...I'll try it. Plus, they really do have a great return policy.

  17. 11/09 -These genuine shearling boots at costco are GREAT!! I own 3 pairs of real UGGS$ from nordstroms, not some bogus online store, and they look 99.999% identical! The tan color is almost correct, but the chocolate is spot-on identical! Buy them when you see them- they will not be there the next day! I promise you, you will love them!
