J Crew - the Thriller sweater

"Cause this is thriller, thriller night
And no one's gonna save you from the beast about strike
You know it's thriller, thriller night
You're fighting for your life inside...
"

...no not "inside." You broke out of the coffin and your sweater looked like this:

Size S

Style# 17855, $98 (A c-note? pwah-ha-ha-ha!)

ETA: The Thriller sweater has a name -- it's the merino flutter bow cardigan (17855). It runs XS - XL and comes in heather aqua, dusty mauve and chalk. And yes, that looks like the silk tier cami in antique stone underneath the cardi.

Check it out on AudreyBella

What the heck is this? And hey, if you likey, don' lie...just say so.

Chime in...

p.s. I am going to a Michael Jackson Latin tribute/festival tonite. They are doing MJ songs in the Latin style...salsa, etc... I think they are having dance demos & choreographed numbers to some of the music. I have no idea what I'm going to wear. This sweater *would* be perfect w/a salsa skirt and zombie makeup, no?

  1. LOL! I'm not gonna lie, I went to my B&M yesterday and was dismayed to see several of the merch tables just *puking* chiffon. I'd nominate the Thriller Cardigan for a "Hot Mess" award. You're a brave gal for trying that on!

  2. No likey at all - maybe this could work on the right person, but on me, it would just be sloppy.

And I will have Thriller running through my brain the rest of the day. thanks.

  3. Wow. It's like there was an accident on the assembly line and no one said anything...and then J.Crew didn't notice. I'll give them a pass because there are so many other lovely things in this rollout.

  4. I didn't like it IRL and I don't like it on either. What were they thinking?!

  5. I just don't even get it. Maaaybe if the chiffon were a different color, or there were other patterned fabric embellishments, it could look kind of cool and patchwork-y and anthropologie-esque. But no it's just a mummified mess. This will be marked down to $19.99 in a month.

  6. Muahahah - Gigi it seriously looks like the sweater broke out of a coffin. And then the chiffon went through the blender. No likey.

  10. This reminds me of one of the tee shirts you reviewed awhile back - remember the one with the toilet paper looking chiffon all over the shoulder? Maybe the same designer? Must be a nephew of Mickey's to get away with that!

  11. What is that???? It looks like it's covered in cobwebs. I definitely don't like it. Eeeew!

  12. Hahahaha! As soon as I read the title of your post I knew I was going to love it! You couldn't have described that sweater any more perfectly. Why would someone pay for a sweater that looks like it's been shredded?

  13. I kinda like-d-ed it. I didn't try it on because I was pressed for time and the freaking air conditoner was broke in the store so there was no way I was trying on cardigans THAT DAY!!! I am in the minority on this one. When/if i am swayed to try it on, I will do a follow up post.

  16. Yep, definitely has an unraveling mummy quality to it...

  17. Me no likey - but I've never liked any of their stuff that looked like someone got carried away in the Chiffon section of the fabric store. I just have a hard time imagining someone designing this and Jenna lyons agreeing to sell this.

  18. Ha ha, you are too funny! This cardi is scary! Maybe perfect for a zombie prep?? Hm...

  19. I'm definitely picking up a cobweb vibe from this sweater. The pattern is too haphazard for me. Pass.

  20. The designers must have had a brain cramp when they designed this sweater. Looks like toilet paper stuck on the sweater to me.

Now I have thriller running through my head too.

  21. I've been singing Thriller all day, too. And doing a move from the dance every so often. ;-)
