J Crew - tissue ruffle cardigan

J Crew's tissue ruffle cardigan (12664) was $45 and is currently on FS for $19.99. It's worth every penny of the FS price.

Dark charcoal

Size S

Size S

Me likey. I bought both of those colors. It's a great way to dress up a t-shirt and look like I 'tried.'

Likey? Have you purchased one? No likey?

Chime in...

  2. I bought one in warm blush (light pink). It's a great little cardi to throw on in the evenings, but it totally stretched out after one wearing. I'm hoping it will shrink back up in the dryer.

  3. When I first saw this on-line I had it my cart, then I read the description and it said it fell to the high hip which does not suit me at all. So I did not buy it. It looks good on you.

  4. Gigi,
I didn't find the "where I store my jewelry" on you blog did you post anything relate it that I missed?

  5. I tried this on in store, and liked it but not FP-liked it. Can't remember which way I sized though, a little up or a little down. I agree that it is worth FS price, but don't want to get unless i can remember my right size (or check in-store). Maybe casual-crew answered my question. Love the dark charcoal - but it's one of my favorite colors of theirs.

  6. So funny Gigi, I was about to write a post about the same cardigan. I like it a lot but waited the $19.99 price before buying. I have it in dark charcoal and slate. I bought the dark charcoal first (BTW, it looks great with the cocktail capris in the same color) and then the slate but I might have to return the slate b/c I only found a S when I normally wear a XS. Looks great on you, especially the dark charcoal.

  7. I love them too! I have it in charcoal, celery, and natural! I would have gotten the darker pink but it was sold out in Medium when they went on sale. They will be great to wear all summer!

  8. I agree Gigi, its fabu. I got the warm blush in Small at $19, and it is so pretty and feminine, w' a tank under it, and jeans. really dresses up a look, and yu, are right, looks like yu 'tried'!

  9. yay! I love this cardi...I now have it in the pewter (light slate?) color and the natural. Might get them in the other colors too...they are that wonderful. ITA that they're a great way to dress up an otherwise boring outfit. It really does make it look like you tried harder than you actually did! :)

  14. Anon@12:24 AM - Verrry fab. Thanks for visiting.

Molly - I love the warm blush but it doesn't go w/my coloring. It's so pretty. I hope your cardi snaps back. I haven't worn mine yet, so good to know.

casual-crew - I should have put the measurement on the post. Well, you know you can always call CS and get the measurements from them. It's a big help.

The Outfit of the day - Hi :-) Yes, I am going to do a jewelry storage post. I started notes for it and published instead of saving it.

HeidiG - Oh yeah...not FP cute. This would look cute on you and in the dark charcoal.

Ema - That's a good idea to pair it w/the capris. I almost got XS, but the buttons tend to pull as other people have mentioned.

SC Crew - I never saw celery or natural. I love the celery color.

caliglam - Even if you didn't get an addtl 20% with the personal shopper promo, $20 for this is good.

AppGal - What is up...why didn't I see natural? *lol* These are good things know and for my eyes to scan for on the sale racks.

sparrowsandsparkles - We like similar things. You should visit HeidiG if you haven't already. She likes what we like and vice versa.

Kristy - Hi Kristy -- the cuff is from J Crew. I believe it is a current offering. They had a similar one last year in 2 other color combos.

ccbmum - :-) I will probably recognize you in-store one day because we'll be wearing something similar *lol*

Jenny K. - Yay for ruffle gals.

  15. I bought the charcoal also and love it! However...I'm a little worried it's going to fade to green. I washed it in cold and line dried it and I think it might have a little greenish hue in some lights. They look great on you!

  16. Love the slate color and it was my first choice but b&m only had the pale and darker pink left so I opted for the darker shade.
Thanks for sharing all your shopping experiences with us.

  17. I bought this one in warm blush and dusty rose color (after I swore not to buy any single item in multiple colors! )

I think they'll be great for Summer (with shorts, skirts) and I love ruffles in general.

I agree, I don't think they are worth FP

  18. I purchased the cardigan in warm blush @ full price... returned it ... when it went to $19.99 plus 20% off I purchased it again. It goes great with the fresco shell (14594)

  19. Donna - I think you're right about the green tint in the grey. I've never noticed that before about greys. I've noticed some blacks seem to have a brown tint. Maybe you've seen the same. Anyway -- at this price, 5 or 6 wears will thrill me.

amers72 - The dark pink is really nice. Good score!

SanFranciscoCA - I am over my self-imposed rule of one item in multiple colors. If I know I will wear it then I'm good. ;-)

birdie butter - Workin' the return angle. I'm no stranger to that. *lol*

  20. Got this in dusty rose at the b&m for $19.99.. having a hard time figuring what to pair it with ...any thoughts ?

  21. Anon@12:00 PM - I haven't worn mine yet, either. I have the same color. Off the top of my head:

    1) wht tank, wt pants/capris/shorts, long necklace

    2) red/wht striped tank might work underneath pink if you have that or another type of print

    3) I keep seeing it with grey chinos, though I haven't tried it yet.

    4) over a dress (black, white), as you would a sweater cardi

    5) tank/cami, the dusty rose ruffle cardi and a blazer or jacket over that, the weather is warming up, but that might be a good look in the future

    HTH :-)
