Photographed w/out flash. They look pink, right?

They *still* kind of look pink w/out flash.

With flash -- this is how they look

With flash and on my foot - size 8 - they look coral/orange!

Me no likey. I swear they did not look so orange when I saw them in the store last month. My verdict is to go up half a size w/the whole slingback action. I am convinced skin tone influences the way the soft seashell color looks on the body. Mr. Gi just kept saying they look orange, they look orange.
Check out dinagideon's review because they look good on her. They also look good on champagne&cupcakes.
Likey? No likey?
Chime in...esp if you ordered, please state what size you usually wear and what size fit best.

Coming tomorrow....J Crew's tissue ruffle cardigan

Very pretty. I've never bought J. Crew shoes, but these are adorable. And, I like the color.
ReplyDeletei love the look of this shoe. they look cute on you! i tried these on and they pinched my toes so badly...but they looked so cute on. i love the style and i like that "root" color (i forgot what it's called now). i also liked the shell color...but sizing up did not help me in the toe area. they just felt so tight in the toe. the SA said they could be stretched at Nordstrom but i don't want to take that chance! so cute though!
ReplyDeleteThese look pretty on you Gigi. I am thinking about the peep-toe Mary Jane ones. OT, I got the twisted cotton trench for $99, less 20% from the personal shopper appt! It is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty shoes. I would think these would work with a lot of outfits. No go for me due to my wide toe-age.
ReplyDeleteI <3 this shoe too. $99 still seems steep for what it is though.
ReplyDeleteI must say that I DO like the color - it's a peachy coral, which has aspects of pink and orange, hence the futzy photograph colors. It's a pseduo-neutral, which makes me think it would be good to pair with the light greens, beiges/khakis, yellows, darker pinks, blues, whites, blacks. Versatile. Good to know it can look pink in more natural light.
I have shoes w/ankle straps, and if that baby is leather, they can stretch out. So, it's good to get the right size, and then wear it a little to break it in. Nothing more annoying than a strap that doesn't hold anything flopping at the back of your footsies.
I think you should keep them...they don't really look orange, they look like a nice soft pastel neutral...I'd bet they go with a lot in your wardrobe :)
ReplyDeleteI also think they are very pretty, but you could probably find a similar style in the color you really want at another retailer (probably for less money, too). ;)
ReplyDeleteThey look very nice. I really like them on you. Seeing them makes me want a pair, but if the fit is a problem, I will pass.
ReplyDeleteThey look very pretty on you and dinagideon. If the heel were lower, I'd definitely get a pair in this color. I think it's a sort of neutral pink like Diana Draw said earlier. :)
ReplyDeleteI like. I think those are lovely. I probably wouldnt buy them though
ReplyDeleteI heart them and think they look great with your skin tone!
ReplyDeleteI am gonna throw my hat in here and say I love them on you...but it is about your comfort level. You should see the things my hubby says "oh you look so nice in." They are usually the most uncomfortable, weirdest colored things I own. ;) I guess to each his own...
ReplyDeleteMaybe I will wear them to the brunch this weekend...hmm...
Have a nice night!
Not orange -- maybe "apricot"?
ReplyDeleteUmmm, they look nice, just not necessary worth the price tag IMO. The shine (patent leather?) cheapens it... I think you can find similar ones at Payless.
Jenny K. - I love the J Crew shoes I have. You should give them a try.
ReplyDeleteccbmum - That's weird on sizing. I will do some cobbling on shoes, but I don't believe in stretching. It seems like doing too much.
caliglam - Ooooh...the twisted trench. You know I love that.
HeidiG - I had to return them. No go for me.
Diana Draw - $99 *is* a lot for these shoes, unless you're tippling on the Crewlade. And indeed I was. The strap is exactly what bugs me about slingbacks. I should have stuck to what I know. I know I don't like that style of shoe.
GingerSnap - They went back. I like my tan/nude neutrals best ;-)
FFM - Quite frankly I was hoping they'd be feminine and possibly entice my husband. He no likey so I returned.
shopaholicdiva1027 - Don't get 'em. They're not worth slipping on the slope for.
A Bigger Closet - Thanks.
krista.alana - I agree now that I've taken them back. Don't buy.
JL - You have a nice monitor. Trust me, these are not flattering in person. *lol* :-)
dinagideon - You're biased. You look great in them ;-). Just teasing of course. They look SO good on you and I confess, seeing them on you is why I pulled the trigger.
Pansy - Apricot is a good name for it. I agree -- Payless probably has this. Oh, the Crewlade. What's a girl to do...
They're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOlga -- They're really pretty for some, but a pass for me.
ReplyDeleteThey looked peachy coral on me too...I was hoping for pink!
ReplyDeletePakcola - Ok, so I'm not the only one. Very interesting, though, because they look more pink on others. Thanks for visiting :-)
ReplyDeletePerfect shoes-shape, color, heel- everything! Definitely, likey!!
ReplyDeleteSlastena - Thanks for visiting :-)
