This is a M. Me really, really likey!

Here is a reminder of Old Navy's twill blazer. See why I was on the fence about this one? It's not as clean as the one from AE. Plus you can roll the sleeves to the elbow on the AE blazer.

The buttonholes on the AE blazer have blue stitching. Not overtly noticeable, but a minor detractor for me. I suppose I could have that changed if it bugged me that much. Other than that I only have 2 more days until I "refocus" (no shopping), so I will probably get this one with the 20% printable coupon I found online. You can click here

Blazer looks mmmmmmaaaavelous! The tank too! I almost bought this blazer at FP, but I balked...sad. Now I'm going to make a trip to try it on tomorrow...just hope it fits my long torso :)
ReplyDeleteooooooh, yay! Thanks so much for posting this. I see what you mean - the AE one looks a lot crisper compared to the ON one, which looks much more wrinkly when the photos are next to each other. The AE also looks like it has more room, like it'd be easier to wear stuff under it, plus it has bigger pockets (love useful clothing). Tell me - does the AE one look okay when you button it up? How slouchy is slouchy? I'm a big fan of wearing jackets open too, and think it looks tre good on you. Oh - the sleeves rolled up? So posh and summer-casual, love it.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely, dah-ling, as per usual.I might have to check this out...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! This looks amazing on you, esp. with that tank! Well done, you! :)
ReplyDeleteThe AE one looks crisper, but the ON one gives you a nice hour-glass shape.
ReplyDeleteI like the American Eagle one a lot better.
ReplyDeleteThe AE one is great. Best for quite a while!
ReplyDeleteI also think the other jacket/non AE gives you a better shape and fits better.
ReplyDeleteThe AE blazer looks great on you - I like it better than the ON one.
ReplyDeleteAE looks better on in my opinion. You are one busy girl shopping all these items. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh poo. I went to AE today and the didn't have the blazer!! They had lots of other cute tees and jeans though! Gigi - I tried on and loved the rolled, distressed jeans!!!
ReplyDeletehoundlvr67 - Thanks! You'll have to let me know how the fit was on you.
ReplyDeleteDiana Draw - It's not too slouchy. It's structured, IMO and not sloppy at all. One thing I discovered today is that the sleeves are 3/4 and rolled. They don't go all the way down.
Paper Bag Princess - I really liked it, till I went back today. The blue button hole stitching bugged me after all.
AppGal - I super duper love it w/the tank but ended up w/the tank only.
krista.alana - The ON blazer is on its way. I'm going to see what I think of it in petite.
Olga & fidele - Thanks! I ended up not getting it, despite lots of likey & love for it.
Anon@9:17 PM - I ended up going w/the ON one after all.
HeidiG - I adore the look of the AE one. But between the Kohl's version of the Fiona and the ON blazer, my white jaciket needs are satisfied.
IRL - I agree that AE looks better. However, when I went back today I completely changed my mind.
Paper Bag Princess - The blazer was hidden in both of the AE stores I went into. Waaaay in the back of the store, on the lower racks. Hidden. Bizarre. I may try the skinny distressed. Curious how they will look. The boyfriend didn't work. Too boxy for me.
Thanks for the reviews and pics Gigi! I guess I really need to visit AE now, too!
ReplyDeletegigi - you and chloe (at chloe conspiracy) have made me AE in converts!!! I went into the store last week and ordered this blazer in black. I love how it fits, especially as the jcrew ones are running really cropped on me lately. I would have gotten white, but have a great one from jcrew about summers ago...
ReplyDeleteAnd today I ordered some ripped up jeans for $20. hopefully they will work, as I'm intrigued by them, but refuse to pay jcrew's $148 price tag!
yay for expanding my shopping horizon!
