I'm thinking of getting my UPS driver a certificate to Target for the holidays. I figure not everyone goes to Starbucks, but everyone goes to Target. We have 2 in our area and I know that she lives around here. We're not overly friendly, but we're getting there. Lord knows she's been by my house enough.
Some companies have limitations on what employees can accept. What do you think is an appropriate amount? Are you giving a gift to your UPS driver?

I thought of doing the same thing! I think for the post office, it's no more than $25. Maybe it's the same for UPS.
ReplyDeleteI am going to get a gift card for my postal service person; he is so sweet. I was thinking of $25 too.
ReplyDeleteLOL - I got my UPS driver a $15 gift card also. I was unsure whether they could accept anything so I picked a value under $20 in case that was the cut off. Anyway, $25 sounds good and I agree that Target is a nice choice because you can get shoes, clothing, shampoo, food, paper towels, etc at Target. Totally useful.
ReplyDeleteMelanie & caliglam - I was thinking $25 as well. I think my driver will be very surprised. That'll make it even more fun. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Dina -- Thanks for stopping by. $15 is a good amount for other ppl I have in mind. $10 seems cheap for some and $25 too expensive for others. $15 will make a great card for others.
ReplyDeleteI have given my Mail Carrier a Christmas gift for the past few years, but not the UPS guy...I think a giftcard or even cash (perhaps in a thank you card) would be a nice gesture...I'm going to include my UPS driver this year. :)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what to do, I have at least 3 UPS drivers that rotate their shifts. My last parcel comes tomorrow and I will have to see who comes to the door. If it is regular I will give him something but then I will feel bad for the others.
ReplyDeleteUPS-Unfortunately, I hide from mine--it's SO embarrassing at this point! I wait until they leave the pkg and drive away before opening the door. I am aware I have a problem. I get something EVERY day esp due to all the FLUBS I have been dealing with.
ReplyDeleteI also know my FedEx and UPS drivers routinely change. Wanna know how--since I hide and cannot see their faces? I can hear the music of one UPS driver blaring when he pulls up and parks and then other times I just hear the truck and no music. One guy rings the bell twice and the other just knocks and yells, "UPS! More J Crack is here"!
HAHA bug pin that's hilarious. i want to believe he actually says that.
ReplyDeleteI get a bunch of AMC movie theater gift cards and hand them out to delivery people and others because I always forget how many little gifts I need every December. AMC's web site has $10 and $25 cards - so my FedEx delivery guy will deliver the cards then the next day I'll give him one!
ReplyDeleteFFM -- Ah! USPS. Forgot about my guy. Thanks for the note.
ReplyDeletecasual-crew - Hope your regular UPS guy shows and everything you ordered arrives well in the box!
bug pin - *lol*
leanne - Movie certificates are a good idea, esp w/the cost of tix these days.
Frankly, I asked a different mail carrier than my own what the *very* best gift is - they may not be allowed to say, but it was clear -CASH is most appreciated.
ReplyDeleteToday I am giving my Mail Carrier (who is also a good friend) a necklace, our family photo, and 2 kinds of Homemade Fudge (chocolate and peanut butter). I'm also giving my UPS driver $25 Cash and both kinds of fudge, as well. :)
