J Crew's sequin striped tee -- I thought this was online or in the catalog so I didn't note the price or the style number. I saw it in San Francisco yesterday. I have *not* seen it in Walnut Creek just yet. Maybe it's part of the new rollout coming on Monday/Tuesday (12/7-12/8) of next week. I think they also had yellow and maybe black. It looked so big on the hanger. I was surprised a small fit as it did. I have to say that it's comfortable on. Another thing it has going for it is that the sequins go all the way around the shirt. If I recall it is around $128, but I could be off. It wasn't cheap. I wouldn't buy this one. Not even on sale. I guess the black could be cute under a long black cardigan but I prefer the tissue sequin henley for that.

ReplyDeleteby the way this shirt "was" up online a couple weeks ago... i was looking for it the other day and didn't see it, but if you type in sequins in search it does bring it up. online its available in pink, green and citron.
it is 125.
i saw it in my store about two weeks ago and tried it on and also love the fit and love the sequins but i won't get it unless it goes drastically on sale! the most i would pay for it is 50. (about what their other embellished tees are)
Hmmm...the only thing more unflattering than horizontal stripes is wide SEQUIN stripes!!!
ReplyDeleteEven a skinny model wouldn't look good in this (and I love sequins!). I think JCrew is starting to run out of things to do with sequins...
I think the henly is just as cute and it is a steal right now. I added a quick hook and eye closure about mid point up the sequins opening and it is perfect now.

caliglam - I tried on the ATL sequin tee in red. Very pretty on the hanger moreso than me, but the black was nice. I didn't try on the ivory/gold. I prefer the J Crew sequin henley t, esp at the sale price.

anon@10:44 - *lol* That was funny. I agree. They are trying to get creative w/their sequins. I'd say 30% hit (I.e. sequin henley), 70% miss (others!).
kate - Genius to add the hook/eye closure. It looks very easy to do. Thanks for the tip. I was using wardrobe tape. Hook idea is much better. :-)
